Co-founders Sophie Musumeci and Alison Valenti aim to build support networks for business-owning mothers across the world, with a goal of establishing 100 communities globally by 2021.
Real Entrepreneur Mums co-founders Sophie Musumeci and Alison Valenti are changing the way women are doing business.
Recognising the increasing role entrepreneurial mums are playing in the economic landscape, their professional community provides an environment that allows women to do business on their terms – by focusing on developing real relationships, not just referral numbers.
Feeling jaded by evening networking events that focused swapping business cards, awkward conversation, and guest speakers, Alison and Sophie founded Real Entrepreneur Mums in 2016 to connect busy working mums.
“We knew there had to be a better way for busy working mums to connect. Better times, better structure, better outcomes,” said Alison.
They wanted to focus on really understanding the workings of each other’s businesses, so they could feel truly comfortable referring them to family, friends and others on their social media platforms.
Real Entrepreneur Mums builds small networking communities of no more than 30 members, using impressive rules, positive reinforcement and Mum-friendly meeting times, to make way for business-owning mothers to dominate their industries.
“Our mission is simple,” said Musumeci, “we want to build a global business that inspires women to go after their dreams and smash their goals.”
It’s this simplicity that has yielded a spectacular community of female entrepreneurs in just two years. The brand’s Facebook page boasts over 3,100 active members and the brand’s subscribed members has swollen to 150 in mid-2018.
“In today’s world, more and more women want to discover a way to balance the important aspects of modern life,” said Valenti.
“Starting your own business and becoming an entrepreneur Mum takes great courage and requires a support network, both personally and professionally,” adds Musumeci, “so we wanted to help create that in a powerful way.”
With the vision to open 100 communities worldwide by 2021, Alison and Sophie are on track with their projected targets. Following the recently launch of their seventh community in Sydney, Real Entrepreneur Mums have now established their first national community, based in Adelaide.
