Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Vogue Australia, Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out is expected to generate more than $30m for Sydney’s retail economy.
Next week the City of Sydney will host the biggest retail shopping event in Australia, with catwalks, in-store promotions, beauty bars and champagne on offer throughout the city centre.
Returning for its 10th anniversary, Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out on Thursday 5 September will feature more than 600 retailers and brands taking part in the annual extravaganza.
More than 200,000 shoppers are expected to attend the event, along with VIPs and celebrity guests – generating more than $30 million for Sydney’s retail economy.
The Lord Mayor Clover Moore will launch the event at 12pm in Pitt Street Mall alongside Edwina McCann, Editor-in-Chief, Vogue Australia, and other special guests.
“The City of Sydney is proud to partner with the ever popular Vogue American Express Fashion’s Night Out, which is now in its 10th year,” the Lord Mayor said.
“Fashion’s Night Out brings even more life to our city streets and boosts retail opportunities in our main shopping precinct.”
Vogue American Express Fashion's Night Out will run from 10am to 10pm across Pitt Street Mall, Martin Place, David Jones, Queen Victoria Building, Strand Arcade, The Galeries, and Castlereagh and Market streets.
Pop-up stores, fashion forums and live performances will enliven the city centre with a dedicated fashion focus for the evening.
The City has been a major sponsor, with cash and in-kind support, for the international fashion event since it started in 2010. Established to celebrate shopping and support the fashion industry during the global financial crisis, the event began in New York and is now celebrated in shopping capitals across the world from Tokyo to Madrid and Moscow.
Retailers and businesses can register here if they are interested in participating.
