Named Female Entrepreneur of the Year in the Asia, Australia and New Zealand category, Rachael Ferguson said, “In New York, I was surrounded by inspiring women who encourage each other to follow their dreams because we are all in this together.”
Foot health was a big winner in New York last week, when CEO of Perth-based company Synxsole, Rachael Ferguson, was named Gold Stevie® Award winner in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year in Asia, Australia and New Zealand category in the 16th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.
Hailed as the world’s premier business awards, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business honour women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run worldwide. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners during a dinner event attended by more than 550 people at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Synxsole was born in 2011, and in 2015 the fledgling company secured investment through the TV show, Shark Tank to enter into the retail market with a game-changing patented insole design. Since then, Synxsole has expanded its product range to address all foot related concerns and are striving to be the ‘go to’ brand when it comes to footcare in Australia and around the world.
CEO Rachael Ferguson said winning the Gold Stevie Award signifies her dramatic growth as an entrepreneur over the last two years. “It encourages me to dream even bigger because the sky’s the limit, as it’s our goal to spread the word of happy feet throughout the world,” she said. “In New York, I was surrounded by inspiring women who encourage each other to follow their dreams because we are all in this together.”
More than 1,500 entries were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Executive of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year. Winners were determined by the average scores of more than 150 business professionals around the world, working on eight juries.
