Indonesian property brokerage Invest Islands has been recognised as the overall winner in the ‘Best Upcoming Hotel Development’ category at the PropertyGuru Awards Indonesia for its Torok Hill Resort project on the island of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
Invest Islands' Torok Hill Resort in Lombok, Indonesia will contest the Best Hospitality Development category at the PropertyGuru Awards Asia, after winning Best Upcoming Hotel Development at the Indonesian awards.
Comprising 14 hectares, ‘Torok Hill Resort by Invest Islands’ broke ground last month and is being constructed with the help of Bali-based heavyweights Tunas Jaya Sanur (TJS).
Set for completion in early 2023, the high-end luxury destination features a sustainable design and locally sourced materials, with the project consisting of 22 duplex bamboo villas on the beachfront and more than 80 one-, two- and three-bedroom villas located on a stepped hillside with panoramic views of the Indian Ocean and private swimming pools.

Invest Islands co-founder Kevin Deisser said the award strengthened his belief and confidence that the company was on the right track.
“We are still a relatively young company, but we are also super ambitious so it is great to see our vision and professionalism already being recognised by the judges at the PropertyGuru Awards for Indonesia,” he said.
“Hopefully, this will motivate everyone to keep chasing our common goal, which is to help transform the south coast of Lombok in a sustainable and responsible manner.”
Sustainability is one of the pillars of Invest Islands and each of the 100+ units at Torok Hill Resort will feature energy-saving features such as rainwater catchment tanks, greywater reuse systems, and solar roof panels.
Its two-storey 700sqm Waves Beach Club and Restaurant will be constructed from locally sourced bamboo and recognise indigenous architecture.
Fellow Invest Islands co-founder Jack Brown said it was the intention of all Invest Islands projects to not only leave guests awestruck but instigate lasting positive change within the local community.
“The Torok Hill Resort by Invest Islands is a game-changer for the island’s lesser-explored southern coastline — finally a luxury option for those unwilling to sacrifice on comfort," he said.
"Exceptional yet not exclusive, the development is an amalgamation of residential and resort, with privately owned villas making it more widely accessible.”

Mr Deisser said the surrounding community will also benefit from the development, which will have employment make up of more than 80 per cent Indonesians, while also incorporating a gift shop selling community wares and repurposed plastic, as well as being designed to offer guests information about the company’s various charitable initiatives.
“Improving the community, be it through education, recycling or improving the economy, is where the real positive change comes from,” he said.
“So again, I would like to thank not only all our staff and those at TJS, but also our support partners, the award judges, and all our international clients who have shown trust in us since day one.
"Now we look forward to the PropertyGuru Asia Awards on December 4 and cross our fingers.”
For the first time, the sixth annual PropertyGuru Asia Awards Indonesia ceremony was held completely online because of the global pandemic, yet featured a virtual gala event and awards presentation.
The 15th PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final will be broadcast live online as a virtual gala event and awards ceremony via AsiaPropertyAwards.com and partner channels YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn.
