LIVIN, a leading Australian mental health organisation, is proud to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year. Founded by Casey Lyons and Sam Webb in honor of their late friend Dwayne Lally, LIVIN is at the forefront of breaking the stigma of mental health and encouraging open conversations. As LIVIN marks this milestone, it also announces a new growth strategy, expanding its sponsorship initiatives, LIVINWell programs, and merchandise offerings and a changed role for Co-Founder Sam Webb.
Over the past decade, LIVIN has witnessed significant changes in how mental health is discussed and understood in Australia. While progress has been made, there is still much work to be done as more individuals are being diagnosed with mental health conditions. LIVIN remains committed to its mission of empowering people to speak up and seek help through its impactful hashtag, #itaintweaktospeak.
As LIVIN enters this new phase of growth, co-founder Sam Webb has decided to reposition his focus, taking into consideration his other passions and interests based in the United States, where he currently resides. While stepping away from his day-to-day activities at LIVIN, Sam will continue his mental health advocacy and host podcasts.
Casey Lyons, co-founder and CEO of LIVIN, expressed gratitude for Sam's contributions, saying, "I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Sam for his dedication and impact on LIVIN's growth over the past nine years. Sam's commitment to breaking the stigma on mental health has been invaluable. Although he will be missed in his previous role, we support his decision and wish him success in his future endeavors. By recognising the increased demands LIVIN faces as it expands its reach across Australia, Sam has made the selfless decision to prioritise LIVIN's growth and the well-being of its stakeholders.”
Reflecting on his journey with LIVIN, Sam Webb expressed his gratitude to the team, partners, and supporters who have stood by the organisation's side and embraced its vision. He said, "I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved with LIVIN thus far. The impact we have made in breaking the stigma surrounding mental health has been life-changing for countless individuals. While I am saddened to step aside, I have absolute faith in the dedicated team at LIVIN, who will continue to drive the organisation forward."
"I am extremely proud of LIVIN and my contributions to its growth. From where we started to where we are today is mind-blowing, and I'm grateful to everyone who has helped us reach this point. Mental health will always be a passion of mine, and I will continue to be actively involved in promoting it, “Sam added.
Casey Lyons remains Co-Founder and CEO of LIVIN with Dan Eddleston as General Manager.
LIVIN remains steadfast in its commitment to its supporters and the wider community, as it embarks on this new chapter. With an unwavering determination to break down the barriers surrounding mental health, LIVIN will continue to empower individuals and promote positive mental well-being and suicide prevention across Australia.
