Once The Komo is up and running alongside sister venue The Belvedere, LLG will become the second biggest employer in the area.
Australia’s oldest private property developer, Lewis Land Group (LLG), is looking for more than 100 staff (ranging from management to kitchen and bar staff) for the Mon Komo Hotel (now renamed The Komo Hotel) in Woody Point ahead of the pub’s reopening this month.
The company acquired the venue in September and has spent the past few months renovating it.
LLG Queensland Regional Manager – Leisure, Chris Allison, told WILLIAMS MEDIA, "We're very much looking forward to the opening of The Komo Hotel. We've been conducting interviews non-stop over the past few days as we're hiring for all different aspects of the venue, from kitchen staff, to management, bar, wait staff and administration.”
LLG also owns the Belvedere Hotel down the road and, once the Komo is up and running, it will be the second biggest employer in the area.
As an equal opportunity employer, the company is actively looking for staff of all ages and backgrounds with a real emphasis in recruiting from the local community. They’re very much for giving people a go.
"As with all hospitality businesses at present, finding staff for specialised roles including chefs and management has been a challenge, but we're feeling positive,” Chris explained to WILLIAMS MEDIA. “The Komo’s sister venue, The Belvedere, has had a great summer so far off the back of really strong support since last year's lockdown, and we hope to bring that same element of excitement and community to The Komo.”
LLG prides itself on reviving local venues and restoring them back to their position as a key social meeting place for the community. The importance of the local watering hole is something that has become very evident at many of the pubs LLG owned over the last 12 months.
"Our hotels are diverse with wide appeal to different audiences. At The Komo we will have created a place in the local community where you can bring your kids, grandparents, and your friends young or old. To be able to do that, and make a significant contribution to the region through employment and good citizenship is extremely rewarding."
