The historic Birdsville Bakery has been purchased out of the hands of receivers PwC for an undisclosed price.
The Birdsville Bakery is strategically located opposite the iconic Birdsville Hotel and is situated approximately 1,600km west of Brisbane and 1,200km north of Adelaide on the legendary Birdsville racetrack.
Located at 1 Coolibah Street & Billabong Boulevard, Birdsville in Queensland, the property has been a long-time attraction of the small country town but in recent times has been left vacant.
CW & TJ Ellis Property Pty Ltd ATF Ellis Family Property Trust has purchased the exceptional landholding of approx. 1,376sqm, spanning two lots. The adjacent properties are on two separate titles allowing for repositioning, a future strata sub-division and development (STCA).
The sale was negotiated by Nick Lower and Gregory Woods of Savills Australia and Daniel Walley and Nick Charlwood of PwC who said the incoming purchaser expects to reignite the local attraction according to local sources.
According to Nick Lower, NSW Director of Metropolitan and Regional Sales at Savills Australia, “This property provides the opportunity to manage or lease the iconic bakery which benefits from 35,000 visitors who attend seasonal events such as the Big Red Bash in July and the Birdsville Races in September”.
