Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Paul Guerra

The Victorian Chamber is advocating for a comprehensive plan from the State Government to deal with future COVID-19 outbreaks that considers business submissions as well as health advice.

The $143 million targeted business support package will compensate the sectors hardest hit by the recent COVID-19 lockdown. 

The Treasurer's announcement “ensures valuable support can continue to be accessed by business at a time when the Victorian economy has all but been brought to a grinding halt.”

“This takes the pressure off workers and businesses - there is no excuse to not get tested at the first sign of symptoms and isolate until the results are in.”

“The business and jobs crisis has just deepened from these necessary actions,” says VCCI Chief Executive Paul Guerra.

The fund has the support of VCCI Chief Executive Paul Guerra who said, “Many accommodation businesses are not in a position to be taking more financial hits after an incredibly difficult year.”

The package will greatly benefit Regional Victoria, with spending to flow to struggling regional businesses to modernise and build new infrastructure that supports both the local community and visiting tourists.
